It is the perilous transformation from a human body moves by the laws of the mind to the next body moved by a still nameless law buried in the heart of the cell: "A coagulated vibration, denser than air, extremely homogeneous, of golden luminosity, with a fantastic power of propulsion.... The body is no longer dependent on physical laws…" Isn't this the sensation the first vertebrate must have had when it emerged from the watery milieu into another nameless one in which we breathe today? "Each part of the body, at its moment of change, feels the end has come.... All the supports have been taken away.... I have no path to follow!" For what is the path to the next species? "A few have got to open it up." At times, though, the other "milieu" suddenly appears: "An instant marvel.... A state in which time no longer has the same reality, it's very peculiar.... an innumerable present. Another way of living." 80 years earlier, a little girl had undergone her first revolution of matter: "When I was told that everything was made up of "atoms", it caused a sort of revolution in my head: Why. nothing is real, then!" A second revolution takes place at the level of the cellular consciousness: the old matter and its apparent laws change into a new world and a new way of being in the body.
Tu sais qu'il y a un tas de gens qui sont venus pour Auroville... Au lieu de travailler, ils passent leur temps à discuter et à bavarder! et ils m'envoient des lettres. Tout leur ego mental à tous est en pleine effervescence. Tu les as vus?
Non. Je crains que l’on ne me «convoque»!
Ils commencent déjà à discuter sur ce que sera la situation politique de la ville – avant que la première pierre soit posée! Et il y en a un, celui qui est communiste de foi (c'est celui qui a le plus d'énergie et de puissance de réalisation), il est scandalisé: il m'a écrit hier en me disant qu'il ne pouvait pas participer à cette chose qui n'était pas «purement démocratique»!... Alors je lui ai répondu ceci (Mère tend sa note au disciple):
«Auroville doit être au service de la Vérité, par-delà toutes les convictions sociales, politiques et religieuses.»
Je lui ai dit beaucoup plus de choses (Mère fait un geste de corn-munication mentale), mais surtout, j'ai beaucoup insisté sur le fait qu'il valait mieux que la ville soit construite d'abord! et puis on verrait après. Parce qu'il m'a dit qu'il tenait à ce que l’on reste dans le système démocratique «jusqu'à ce que l’on trouve quelque chose de meilleur.» J'avais envie de lui répondre: «Qui vous dit que l’on n'a pas trouvé quelque chose de mieux?» Mais je n'ai rien dit.
Puis j'ai écrit aussi pour J. Il m'avait demandé un «message» pour son école (Mère tend une autre note):
«Celui qui vit pour servir la Vérité n'est affecté par aucune circonstance extérieure.»
(Mère a l’air lasse...)
