This year, all the features of the yoga of the cells become clear: "A growing conviction that a perfection achieved in matter is a far more perfect perfection than any other. The consciousness expressed in transformed cells is a marvel: it legitimises all these ages of misery. Oh, what a fuss all those gods make." This year marks the discovery of "true matter".... without fuss: "In that cellular limpidity, there are no more problems: the solution precedes the problem. That is, things arrange themselves automatically." It's another mode of life on earth - "such a natural way of being" - in a body freed from its mental shackles and the laws of false matter: "The extraordinary impression of the unreality of suffering the unreality of illness.... It does not cure illness: it annuls it - it makes it unreal.... And then you see: as the functioning gradually grows perfect, it necessarily, inevitably means victory over death." And meanwhile, Surveyor is digging the ground of the moon with its mechanical arms, while our own secrets remain buried in a little cell: "We can travel anywhere, we know what's going on anywhere.... and we don't know what's going on inside ourselves." War is raging in Biafra, the Israeli troops are marching toward Suez, American planes are bombing Haiphong, China explodes its first thermonuclear bomb.... and so on. "A tremendous conflict over earth." At stake is a new earth, or a return to the old fiasco: "A local and momentary manifestation is not ruled out, but what is needed is a collective transformation sufficient to create a new species on earth.... This fact is certain." Will we understand where the real way out is, and the Marvel concealed in a human body?

Très souvent, c'est comme cela: je reçois à peu près vingt-cinq ou trente lettres tous les jours; là-dessus, j'ai le temps d'en lire huit ou dix, et alors, au moment où c'est lu, la plupart du temps il n'y a aucune réponse: c'est au moins quatre-vingt-dix-huit pour cent inutile. Quand il y a quelque chose, tout de suite ça vient. Et quand il n'y a pas de réponse tout de suite, quelquefois (souvent) je mets de côté, et alors quand je suis seule, Sri Aurobindo vient et me dit: «Si tu lui disais ça.» Alors imédiatement j'écris. Cela arrive très souvent. Et toujours une réponse, oh! avec le sens du ridicule, l’humour, juste toucher le point où est la faiblesse et l’inconscience. Ça, c'est très amusant. Alors je ne cherche jamais, n'est-ce pas, jamais-jamais-jamais, tout simplement c'est comme cela. Quand il faut que je réponde, ça vient; alors je n'ai qu'à prendre le papier, mon crayon et puis j'écris. Ça, c'est la partie du travail qui n'est pas du travail, qui est un amusement.

Je t'ai fait un discours, deux fois.
De très bonne heure le matin, pendant que tu devais être endormi. Pendant la nuit d'hier à aujourd'hui et la nuit d'avant-hier à hier, de très bonne heure, vers quatre heures du matin, je t'ai fait un discours. Et pas tout à fait «moi» (et d'abord «moi», où est moi? je n'en sais rien), c'est... Quelquefois cela vient de tout en haut, comme cela, impératif; quelquefois cela vient de Sri Aurobindo, et ça, c'est beaucoup plus proche, intime. Et c'était Sri Aurobindo, les deux fois. Je t'ai fait un discours.

Il a dû te le dire! Alors pour toi, ça reviendra comme cela (geste de l’intérieur); un jour, tout d'un coup, ça ressortira du fond de toi. J'ai même vu cela (l’expérience était assez complète), j'ai vu que ça entrait dedans et puis qu'un jour, ça ressortirait et ce sera simplement comme une inspiration ou une révélation, ou même simplement une connaissance: «Ah! c'est comme cela!»
C'est très amusant.
Sri Aurobindo a parlé très nettement. Il t'a dit POURQUOI c'est comme cela. Mais il ne m'a pas dit de te le dire, il m'a dit: «Je lui dis et il le saura un jour.»
Mais à quel sujet?
Au sujet de ce que tu m'as dit la dernière fois: que ton corps laissé à lui-même n'a pas d'expérience. Il t'a dit pourquoi. Et il t'a dit comment faire. Mais cela, je peux te le répéter; le comment faire, je peux te le répéter: il t'a dit que ton corps était encore dans l’état où il doit aller à l’école, et c'est ton être intérieur, ta conscience, ton vrai moi, qui doit lui donner la leçon. Il a dit: «Il est encore à la période où il faut qu'on lui fasse la leçon, et il faut qu'on lui fasse la leçon.»
Voilà.
C'est très intéressant, et très intime.
Et alors, je lui ai demandé: «Faut-il que je le lui dise?» Il m'a dit: «Non, il faut que ça sorte de lui-même, comme cela, que tout d'un coup ce soit comme une révélation et il dira: ah! oui...»
Voilà. (Riant) Et je t'ai donné un petit coup de corde!
