The beginning of the terrible years.... There was the feeling that Mother had found the secret of the change, conquered all she could from her own body, and that she was now sitting there, surrounded by the pack, just putting up with each and every resistance of the old species. "The change is DONE. Everything is tooth and nail, ferociously after me, but it's over." A new mode of being of the cellular consciousness had appeared on earth, as one day, in inert matter, there appeared a new mode of being called life - but this time it is "overlife": "The impression there is a way of being of the cells that would be the beginning of a new body; only, when that comes, the body itself feels it is dying." What would be the feeling of the first corpuscle to experience life? "The body feels it has reached the point of.... unknown. A very, very strange sensation. A sort of new vibration. It's so new that.... I can't speak of anguish, but it's.... the unknown. A mystery of the unknown." And there, what we call death is like the other side of the bowl for the former fish, and yet it is not "another world": "They are surprisingly one within the other! There is something there.... Is it possible? For overlife is both life and death together." And then, this cry of the breakthrough: "What appears to us as 'the laws of nature' is nonsense!...." Another world ON EARTH in which the old mortal laws of our bowl break down.... into something else? "I have just had a fantastic vision of the cradle of a future.... which is not very far. It's like a formidable mass suspended above the earth." But will the old pack let her go through to the end?

(Mère ouvre de grands yeux et replonge jusqu'à la fin)
C'est extraordinaire! il y a une sorte... une sorte d’ÉMOTION là-dedans, qui n'appartient pas à ce monde. Ça met en contact avec une certaine... je ne sais pas comment l’appeler, mais c'est comme de l’émotion,1 qui est par-delà le mental – par-delà tout-tout, non seulement le mental, mais l’intellectuel. C'est une émotion nouvelle. Je ne peux pas décrire. C'est curieux.
Et chaque fois, ça fait cela, et chaque fois je me dis: «Je vais faire bien attention et suivre pour voir...» et... J'essaye de garder ma conscience dans son état naturel, et alors, malgré moi, c'est quelque chose qui... C'est comme une magie, mon petit!
C'est quelque chose comme de l’émotion, mais c'est de l’émotion qui sait, de l’émotion qui comprend. Ce n'est pas la pensée. C'est vraiment intéressant. Et chaque fois, ça devient de plus en plus conscient; chaque fois, je me dis: cette fois, je ne me laisserai pas prendre! (rires) Mais cette fois-ci, j'étais plus consciente de ce que c'était... Et ça, c'est une chose nouvelle qui est par-delà le mental, l’intellectuel et toute la compréhension, et c'est une façon d'être qui... (je ne sais pas comment l’appeler), c'est quelque chose comme une émotion, mais c'est très clair et très conscient.
Et c'est fort! Ça a une force extraordinaire.
C'est vraiment intéressant.
Il y en a combien encore?
Il y en a encore six. C'est le dixième.
Peut-être qu'à la fin je saurai!
Et ça a un curieux pouvoir de transformer les choses... N'est-ce pas, le Satprem de ce livre, pour moi, n'est pas le même Satprem qu'avant. Et tout prend une... une apparence nouvelle, je ne sais pas – un contact nouveau.
C'est intéressant.
Alors, j'en ai encore pour six fois! J'attends cela avec... C'est vraiment comme une création nouvelle, comme un monde nouveau qui est mis en rapport avec ici.
(silence)
Et c'est par-delà les personnes. Il n'y a pas d'ego.
Oui.
C'est par-delà les personnes.
Il y a quelque chose d'autre – d'autre.
(Mère ferme les yeux)
Et ça ne me quitte pas, cette atmosphère ne me quitte plus. Et pour toutes les choses qui viennent, il n'y a plus la même façon de répondre.2
