A change must take place at the atomic level..to undo the power of death. A new perception of life emerges with 'true matter', the matter of the next species.
"The only hope for the future is a change in man's consciousness. It is left to men to decide if they will collaborate to this change or if it will have to be imposed upon them by the power of crushing circumstances." As the new post gradually infiltrates Mother's body it is the earth one wonders about. How is the earth going to absorb "this vibration as intense as a superior kind of fire"? "I see very few bodies around me capable of bearing it.... So what's going to happen?" It is the year of the first Chinese atomic bomb. Mother is 86. "A tiny, infinitesimal, stippled infiltration - the miracle of the earth!" A catastrophic miracle? Isn't that butterfly some sort of catastrophe to the caterpillar? "Death is no solution, so we are here seeking another solution - there must be another solution." Imperturbably, Mother descends deeper into the cellular consciousness and deeper still: "A kind of certainty, deep in matter that the solution lies there.... It is at the atomic level that a change must take place; the question concerns the state of infinitesimal vibrations in matter." Time veers into something else: "Perhaps it is into the past that I go, perhaps the future, perhaps the present?...." And even the laws of matter change: "As soon as you reach the domain of the cells, that sort of heaviness of matter disappears. It becomes fluid and vibrant again. Which would tend to show that happiness, thickness, inertia have been added on - it's false matter, the one we think or feel, but not matter as it really is." So what, then, would true matter be, the matter of the next species? "I am on the threshold of a new perception of life, as if certain parts of my consciousness were changing from the caterpillar state to the butterfly state...." And the earth groans and protests.... at what? "The whole youth seems to be seized by a strange vertigo...." Are we going to move on to a next species or not?

Es handelt sich um einen Amerikaner, der mit all seinen amerikanischen Vorurteilen hierher kam, und der eine Untersuchung über alles mögliche anstellte (die Art und Weise, wie die Dienste organisiert sind, etc.). Er schickte mir seinen Bericht, in dem er sagte, daß es dem Ganzen an Organisation, an mentaler Struktur fehle ... Ich hatte nicht die Absicht, ihm zu antworten, aber vorgestern, genau in dem Moment, als ich mich für die Nacht zurückziehen wollte, sagte mir Sri Aurobindo mit Nachdruck: "Dies gilt es T zu entgegnen", und er bestand darauf, bis ich es niedergeschrieben hatte - ich mußte es schreiben!
Sri Aurobindo sagte uns (er selbst sagte es), und auch wir sind aus Erfahrung davon überzeugt, daß über dem Verstand ein viel weiseres Bewußtsein als die mentale Weisheit existiert und daß in der Tiefe der Dinge ein viel mächtigerer Wille als der menschliche Wille herrscht.
All unser Bemühen besteht darin, unser Leben und Handeln unter die Führung dieses Bewußtseins und dieses Willens zu stellen und all unsere Aktivitäten davon beherrschen zu lassen. Auf diese Weise wurde der Aschram erschaffen. Seit 1926, als sich Sri Aurobindo zurückzog und mir die volle Verantwortung dafür übertrug (damals gab es lediglich zwei gemietete Häuser und eine Handvoll Schüler), wuchs und entwickelte sich alles analog dem Wachstum eines Waldes, wobei jeder Dienst nicht durch irgendwelche künstliche Planungen, sondern durch eine lebendige und dynamische Notwendigkeit geschaffen wurde. Dies ist das Geheimnis eines konstanten Wachstums und endlosen Fortschritts. Die gegenwärtigen Schwierigkeiten sind hauptsächlich in psychologischen Widerständen der Schüler, die dem ziemlich raschen Gang der Sadhana nicht zu folgen vermochten, und im Eindringen mentaler, das anfängliche Wirken verfälschender Methoden begründet.
Das Wachstum und die Reinigung des Bewußtseins sind das einzige Heilmittel.

Sri Aurobindo has told us and we are convinced by experience that above the mind there is a consciousness much wiser than the mental wisdom, and in the depths of things there is a will much more powerful than the human will.
All our endeavour is to make this consciousness and this will govern our lives and action and organise all our activities. It is the way in which the Ashram has been created. Since 1926 when Sri Aurobindo retired and gave me full charge of it (at that time there were only two rented houses and a handful of disciples) all has grown up and developed like the growth of a forest, and each service was created not by any artificial planning but by a living and dynamic need. This is the secret of constant growth and endless progress. The present difficulties come chiefly from psychological resistances in the disciples who have not been able to follow the rather rapid pace of the sadhana and the yielding to the intrusion of mental methods which have corrupted the initial working.
A growth and purification of the consciousness is the only remedy.

Ich habe den Eindruck, daß dies etwas Entscheidendes ist, denn für mich haben sich die Dinge geändert. Es gehört nicht zu jenen Dingen, die kommen und dann wieder gehen.
Gut ... jetzt gilt es weiterzugehen.
Vielleicht war es dies, was ich sagen wollte, als ich "vier Jahre" sagte, denn ich war in einem recht eigenartigen Zustand, als ich am 29. vom Balkon zurückkam. Schau, ich zeig' dir ein Foto: man hat mir Fotos von diesem Balkon gegeben.
(Mutter holt ein Foto und schaut es an)
Mit dem Mantel, der wie ein Flügel flattert ...
Ich sah nicht mit meinen physischen Augen ... Aber dieser Ausdruck ... in diesem Zustand sagte ich (ich war konzentriert, und etwas trat von hier aus - vom Herzen - und sagte dem Herrn): "Nun gut, warten wir halt weitere vier Jahre!"
Vier Jahre, d.h. 1968. Sri Aurobindo sagte, daß 1967 ein Anfang der supramentalen Manifestation erfolgen werde, somit vereinigen sich die beiden Erfahrungen vielleicht 1968. Das ist möglich.

Ja, das ist keine Frau und auch kein Mann; ganz klar ist da weder Mann noch Frau.
Für mich, wenn ich schaue, sind die Augen der Wille, und der untere Teil des Gesichts ist der Kampf, die Schwierigkeit - es stellt die Schwierigkeiten mit der Erde dar. Aber die Augen sind der Wille, den Kontakt herzustellen (Mutter macht eine Handbewegung von oben nach unten, um das Hohe und das Niedere miteinander zu verbinden).
Das sind keine Bittstelleraugen, schau mal ganz scharf hin: das sind Augen des Willens - fast gebieterische Augen.
Ja, so, als ob du sagtest: "Also?"
