Thy Love Endures

Thy Love Endures

July 29, 1975

He must be unbending and remorseless,
Know that the voice of his soul is all and grief
Unbidden find no room to inhabit his days.
Tears that from unhappy years despoil
Mercy and meaning, cast out - and again renew,
Reweld the fractured edifice with fire.
Seek first the beings truth, no failure entertain;
Self-pity raze that no surcease has brought,
Nor change. Were the years of struggle and want more pure?
Live, united, that in these sunset seasons
Glimpses may dawn of the reason we are here.
Children find in Thee a fullness and a joy,
Memory calls the heart to bliss and moments
Beam more wonderful for Thy love endures.
