Now the cheerful daffodils Are set against the gloom And on the fragrant carpet-hills Magnolias break in bloom.
I know you are at peace in Them Yet difficult the tears Unwanted flow, so hard to stem Remembering the years
We loved and laughed and grew apace In aspiration's fire And now I'm left with but a trace, The ashes of your pyre.
Perhaps with time, when sorrow dies Our souls once more will meet? In other worlds, in brighter skies, United at Their Feet.
