Bonjour.

Bonjour, Douce Mère. Mother, today it is the calendar of prayers.

Oh, all right! Give it to me.

(Mother reads the prayer for the previous month and concentrates. Then She sees the painting of the rose She has named ‘Surrender’ ³⁵ with two buds on the stem.)

It is good. It is beautiful. . . . Well, I have found something . . . (She writes:)

Quand la terre entière
fera sa soumission,
la vie sera transformée.
Permets que mon effort total
collabore à cette réalisation.

When the whole earth
makes its surrender,
life will be transformed.
Grant that my entire effort
collaborates in this realisation.

(When I went to see the Mother on 21 July, I mentioned the prayer She had given me on the 7 July:)

“When the whole earth makes its surrender, life will be transformed.”

Mother, is it the earth or its soul that You are speaking of?

The soul has no need to make its surrender — it is an individualised portion of the Supreme. But the soul is veiled by the vital and completely deformed by the material substance. It is the surrender of the vital and of material substance which is needed so that the soul can act fully as the messenger and instrument of the Supreme.
