Beneath the Surface

I have delved beneath the surface of the sea
And found a world of beauty and surprise.
My aquatic teachers lesson me,
In realms of wonder to my youthful eyes.

Yet more I see, a consciousness supreme,
For One who came into my life is there
Although to shuttered minds the waves might seem
Thunderers demonic without care.

The goggles and the fins, the awkward mask
Allow all souls to dive these sacred fields.
Our lives are set to bear the human task,
To offer self and all as being yields

To the Divine at every unknown turn
That in our hearts the fire may always burn.
