Many things that man has turned into wonderful virtues I found in animals as spontaneous movements—and to their advantage, at least they weren't proud or vain. They spontaneously did things that I must say were very remarkable—remarkable with devotion, abnegation, foresight, educational sense. They did it spontaneously, without writing books about it, without boasting about it as about something marvellous. So it takes a lot to emerge from the animal, much more than people think.
