The longed-for rains came last night And I felt the joy in earth's receipt. A steel-gray morning meets the eyes, Even the crows are quieter now. Has the monsoon truly come, Will the parched earth quicken soon, Will seeds sprout and flowers bloom, Joyous when the sun comes out.
