When we are free of encumbrances To which we held with some delight Adhering to all the Good Book says At times with joy, at times with fright, We were bound against our will Progressing slowly on our path, Often against the inner ways Yet fronting the growth of evil's days And growth despite the darkness' wrath And his subtleness and skill This world his ego wished to kill And send it to the dark of night.
