I knew him as a soul apart, Who knew me many lives ago. I held him closely in my heart As he guided me through life's deep flow. He was not always kind to me Treating me as one outside, But all my flaws he could see And nowhere could I run or hide But he was there supporting me. In his salty way he would not say Or speak of all that I might be With his firm visage on display He brought the Mother closer to me.
