I've known the wine's extravagance And found desire in the ways, Lost the bloom of innocence In the headlong rapture of my days.
But One who stood at the fiery gate Encouraged me to boldly go And seek my path yet consecrate, Remembering the burning glow
She lit within this room of life, Awaking the Sleeper from his dreams Of worlds untenanted by strife, To launch this craft on sunlit streams
And meet in perfect realms above The far transcendences of love.
