For the world has darkness more than it can bear And men are blind or soon by evil led It seems we climb an insurmountable stair Littered with the dreams of those long dead.
Help us to rise to meet our destiny, From transient desires turn, deny The Siren voices tempting ecstasy And tune our ears to Heaven's joyful cry.
