I have said farewell to the flowers and softly walked Upon this hallowed soil that I have loved And filled the feeders as the fledglings talked. My soul lived in beauty deeply moved. I prayed in silence and my prayer took flight Among the herons and hawks that know me well. As I return to Auroville the light Of evening blesses me and the inner bell Calls me to my yearning spirit's home. I know not now what shall before me dawn I only know the voice that bid me come To find the self within me that has grown Through many a life and many a needed death, Through love and faith knowing that we are one, As pioneers inhaling with our breath A blossoming world before us that now has come.
