From the ignorance of mind looking down Upon this world one sees with cancer grown An ineluctable sorrow and despair Appear because beyond one's hope and prayer All seems destined for an untimely end. For where is the truth we must defend, The beauty and the love once cherished here Replaced now with a dark and daunting fear. A numbing isolation seems man's fate Amongst the terrorism and the hate Engendered through the violent centuries, No longer safety when wars do not cease. But those awakened souls can surely see The Light that brings God's ultimate victory.
