Let us be honest and admit We let the hostile forces in, They come with scintillating wit Inviting us to engage in sin. Though we may hold in sanctity In our secret heart the rose, Their darkness of such profundity Holds us to their congress close. Then we pray to Her relief From hostile forces entering, That shake us like a falling leaf With their nearly fatal sting. We feel again in restful hours The atmosphere of calm and peace And with the offering of flowers Find in love the soul release.
