Here alone in this house of God I kneel and pray yet finding nothing odd That all the earth seems in a deep dismay As trenchant evil proceeds to maim and slay With tools of death unknown to us before. Nuclear weapons a disaster tore Upon the weathered fabric of our life. There seems to be no end to violent strife. Is it possible that an interceding Will May come and human hate and greed will still For a time, that truth may live and evil die And a light divine may come, the Solar Eye Awaken us to love and godliness, Soul turn to soul and in that moment bless, Embrace the wondrous miracle we are Inviting us to the Near which seemed so far.
