In me are mountains unidentified And peaks my burgeoning soul has climbed Tenets once in youth I have defied And adolescent poses I have mimed. Yet now the call so strong against a will Harkening to the long-forgotten past Repeating vainly errors fighting still And youthful follies hoping yet to last Against the spirit's choice and though it knows The chosen way is difficult and long The body follows where the spirit goes And victory is only to the strong.
