What shall I of Heaven's grace attain Who have unconsciously walked through the years, Sang in joy of life and known life's pain And wept a river of my rainfall tears, At beauty I have lost and my spirit's mate, Defacement of this earth whom I so love, The sorrow for this world does not abate And the challenged ways in which we humans move. No promise do I wish of supernal joy, Earth is my home despite disharmony I feel I am nothing but an outworn toy Of forces that would control our destiny. But there is more than hope, there is the Path Hewn by the Avatars who with us stay The falsehood and its overpowering wrath Bringing to us the Truth, the unfading Ray.
