Love that lingers as the petals fall From the fragrance of these blossoms sings to me, All sweetness centred in a golden cup Attracting as it does the honey bee So too my soul responding to its the call.
My life is like the lily's, swaying free, Caressed by sun and wind I grow with ease, To the light above me ever looking up, A perfume scattered by a gentle breeze Guides my footsteps through eternity.
I chance the winding way, the downward slope Yet One who sees my erring steps returns To the sunlit path my soul, and all renews. There is a fire that deep within me burns, And though for beauty and truth I often grope
Now in the twilight of this body's dress He comes who lifts from me all sorrow's load And promises that She will not refuse The offered heart on this long journey's road, My human flaws remove with Her caress.
