Even if I write the poorest poems Those who reside in the poorest homes May chance one day upon my poetry And begin to feel the incarnate mystery And look a little on the world inside And somewhere find within an inner guide To carry them beyond the present fray And open for them a somewhat brighter day Then these prayers I write in poetry Will have some lasting worth for them and me.
