I saw the world with the subtle inner eye And through life's senseless rush a sudden hush Descended as beauty declaimed our destiny. I woke anew to green and the sudden flush Of fall, and joy in all that weeps and sings, My breath drew deep and with a swift inrush I knew love would survive in earthly things.
