In the evening when the sun was smiling down And the wind was singing in the trees I walked in forests where new trees had grown After the lumberers razed oaks and pines, And in my youthful heart I treasured these Silent hours alone, my life to please As songbirds came and sang their melodies. The heart attuned to Nature offered praise And felt the world and men once more at ease. Does one sense another world to be Can one approach the higher worlds and see!
