If I would go to the summit and descend Carrying an elixir fo r the world Would it presage the beginning of the end Of man or would his vehemence be hurled At the new life and truth approaching him, A madness sate his mind, a fear to lose The power as he climbed limb by limb Like a god whose life the demons use, Surveying all by evil now subdued, Denying light, denying soul and God, Hoping the ego self might be renewed, Or would he turn to the light of lights to see And seeing become what he is meant to be.
