When still a child I sang of all my dreams Of beauty manifest on this our troubled earth. Experiences came in golden streams, Divine in nature, exceeding worldly worth.
Yet old desire to me strongly clings And anger in moment raises its ugly head The errors of my life bear painful stings And seem the product of a mad instead!
Try valiantly to thwart and overcome The denizens who would my future steal My efforts yield a small and paltry sum, The inner wounds so difficult to heal.
Come now Mother, touch me once again Purify me, keep me without stain.
