In the forests of my youth I walked And to the conscious beings often talked Of life and love and of all earthly things And the beauty that each season brings, The movements of the soil and sun and stars And human evolution scarce begun And of the great earth's silent mystery And the conscious movements of the sea The enigmatic phases of the moon, The plenary godhead coming to us soon And all the world in beauty's apparel dressed To the great towering trees my heart confessed.
