The brilliant days with Basu I recall Arabinda Basu he was named, Mother asked to address him as Arindam. I knew him as my teacher and my friend And always on his word I could depend, He guided me to the Mother that I know And loved me in ways I could not understand, But always I knew the enlightening truth he spoke. One day he said, “We must take photographs, But you will wear Indian dress and I Will dress myself in the finest western clothes!” I did not know he would leave his body so soon. I shall bow to him when he comes again.
