Once I felt the anger of the sea. It seemed to laugh as it accosted me Hurling its waves upon the lonely shore Battering the beach with impunity.
I walked the sand and felt a numbing fear Of rushing beauty suddenly gone wild Yet knew I was protected in the way That God protects his lonely errant child
From all the haunting dangers he will face, Whose hidden self takes refuge in Her smile And in His hands that save, the love that guides The seeking soul from stealthy Evil's guile.
I left the sea and all the earth behind My soul, my truth within, my Lord to find.
