I knelt before Thee, radiant at Thy feet And all the world seemed melted in Thy eyes But I too young, desirous and incomplete Could only glimpse in Thee my Paradise. O Mother, Lord, may fall away from me Desire. anger and the bonds of mind That hold my soul so eager Thine to be All my past, I pray to Thee unwind. I knelt before Thee as the Flame arose And burned away a century of tears And through its blaze interminable blows Of fate and all its tenuous arrears.
