We stand upon a crossroad as we gaze And watch the world's traffic speeding by, A vast computer dominates our days As we recall lost beauty with a sigh And look upon a world gone awry.
Destruction on a superhuman scale Tears into the fabric of our lives Powerless to act our leaders fail Unable to quell dissent anger thrives And now the voice of anarchy arrives
And finds its dwelling in the heart of man. But all our 'isms' fail and we are left To change ourselves within is all we can, Our future taken from us we feel bereft Of our humanity and the gift
Of life ending in the hour of death. But after all we ask, 'why are we here' If but to die in one last gasping breath. If God in us awakes what need we fear Our life is meant to draw the Godhead near.
